Norman Kassoff moved to the Beach with his parents in 1931 when he was a baby. He recalls life as a boy on South Beach, taking care of the dogs at the dog track, seeing fires from WWII naval battles on the ocean’s horizon, and paying an official call on gambling syndicate head Meyer Lanksy.
